Cornwall Surf Academy
The Cornwall Surf Academy has been running since 2003, holding surf lessons through spring and summer. Based in Newquay in Cornwall, we’re ideally located to provide on the water activities including coasteering and stand up paddle boarding (SUP). Want to stay dry? No problem! We also provide bike hire and tours through Yellow Bike Hire.
We offer group games and activities – Perfect for School Activity weeks, Stag & Hen parties, the Military and others!
Based in Newquay in Cornwall we operate from both Fistral beach and Holywell Bay. Our school has the advantage of quiet uncrowded beaches, owing to our affiliation with the National Trust. Perfect for learners or those who just don’t want to queue for every wave!

National Trust
Cornwall Surf Academy is the only surf school located on the beautiful National Trust beach of Holywell Bay. These quiet uncrowded sands mean students can concentrate on learning, and not waiting around for an empty wave.
Location
We hold sessions in both Newquay and Holywell Bay. We have access to changing rooms, hot showers, and free parking. At Holywell, there’s also a mini market selling general groceries and refreshments as well as a bar / restaurant.
Qualified Instructors
All our instructors are fully trained and qualified to ISA (International Surfing Association) standard, as well as being fully trained beach lifeguards with the Royal Life Saving Association.

”Thanks to everyone at Cornwall surf academy, we had an awesome 4 days, great instructors and it was good to have the hire in the afternoons. The group sizes were small and the beach was pretty quiet for the most part. Even when the conditions were difficult for beginners Alex and Dan were really helpful and encouraging! We are not yet pros but can’t wait to come back!
